Notes for: James Thomas ("Tom") Bodine, Jr.

Known as "Tom" BODINE, he began his employment with the Missouri, Kansas & Texas "KATY" Railroad as a pile driver mechanic and relief engineer on a self propelled piledriver. He then began work for the air force in the San Antonio area as an aircraft engine mechanic. He advanced to Supervisor of Aircraft Technicians and retired from this position March 5, 1970. In his latter years, he was incapacitated and remained so until the time of his death.

In his latter years, he was incapacitated and remained so until the time of his death. Tom and Eron Bodine were buried in Hillcrest Garden of Memory, near Hillcrest. Eron (Boaz) Bodine is the daughter of C. and Dora Boaz.

Eron Boaz Bodine, 97, formerly of Whitney, passed away May 18, 2007, in Richardson, Texas. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. The Rev. Caroline Poe of University Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Garden of Memory. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 20. Eron was born July 31, 1909, in Bethany, Grayson County, Texas. She married James Thomas "Tom" Bodine Nov. 21, 1936, in Hillsboro. The couple lived to San Antonio for many years before moving to Whitney in 1970. She was the last of eight siblings and was a homemaker. She was a wonderful storyteller and loved to tell the story about the time she rode out a hurricane in the rumble seat of a car under the awning of a filling station. Preceding her in death was her husband, Tom. She is survived by one daughter, Sarah Hargrave and husband, Bevard E. of Richardson; two grandchildren, Cody Arvidson, Ph.D. and husband, Mark of Richardson, and James Hargrave of Plano; two great-grandchildren, Caegan Arvidson and Devan Arvidson; two sisters-in-law, Alice Boaz of Corpus Christi, and Myrtle Boaz of Sherman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
