Notes for: George Heinrich Charles Schroeter

From Find-A-Grave:

Husband of Margaret Phillis (Edwards) Schroeter, aged 43 years.

George Heinrich Charles Schroeter was originally buried in the Sandy Hill Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey. When Sandy Hill was officially condemned and closed, George Heinrich Charles Schroeter's remains were removed and buried in Cedar Lawn Cemetery on September 18, 1917.

His grave remains unmarked.

Little to nothing in the way of information was known at the time of the Schroeter remains being removed to Cedar Lawn. The only known facts were the names (first and last) and that Mrs. Schroeter was 55-years-old at the time of her death.

The obituary of George Heinrich Charles Schroeter's son, Frank Schroeter, mentioned that his father was the private secretary of King Frederick Wilhelm of Germany, then known as Prussia. He fled around 1848 to come to the United States to escape the revolution.
