Notes for: Carl Howard Bodine

Carl grew to manhood in the pines of east Texas. He served in the USN on the Battleship USS Michigan in WWI and later served in the US Postal Service as a railway mail clerk. He retained this position until his retirement. He and Louise live almost all their married lives in the Wichita Falls area of Texas.

Lois Bodine, 67, of Fort Worth, mother of Mrs. James Petty of Abilene, died at 7 p.m. Friday after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Worth. The Rev. Floyd Kimsey, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Fort Worth. Born Jan. 10, 1909, in Rusk, she married Carl H. Bodine. She was a retired school teacher. She received her bachelor's degree from North Texas State University and her master's from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. She was a member of Sycamore Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Rex of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. James Petty of Abilene and Mrs. Webb McLeod of Dallas, two sisters, three brothers, and five grandchildren.
