LaRue Co. Herald, Thurs, July 18, 1957:
Mrs. Mary Middleton Howard Spratt, age 58 years, wife of Monte Spratt, local painting contractor, died Sunday morning at her home near Lincoln Farm, following an extended illness.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Whitlock and Mrs. Winnie Shives, both of this city, and Mrs. Marlene Berry and Mrs. Dorothy Perry, both of Louisville, three sons, Thomas, William and Norman Spratt, all of Louisville; Eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Sarah Ellen Howard, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Elizabeth Bowen, of this city, and two brothers, paul Howard, of Garden City, Kansas, and Frank Howard, Plano, Ill.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church here with burial in Red Hill Cemetery.
