Notes for: George Granberry Bridger

Much of the information about this man and his family was provided by two of his descendants: Ellie May Harris of Harrison County, Texas and Vickie Martin of Shelby County, Texas. The spelling of the name has not been firmly established. One branch of the family spells it one way and the other branch spells it another way. This goes back to the 1860 Census in Barbour County, Alabama. The brothers and sisters of this man were divided. There were Bridges in one and Bridgers in the other.

Hello! I am Paula Yvonne Bridger Barnes, the daughter of Harvie Bridger and Effie Ergle McCoy. My father is the son of George Oliver Bridger and Grace Belle Richey. George Oliver is the son of Marianne Bodine (San Augustine, Texas) and George Bridger (Georgia). I am told that Marianne is the daughter of OHP. I would love to learn more about my ancestors. My dad and my Uncle Galen have pictures and more information on the descendants of Marianne Bodine and George Bridger.
