He was aged 6 in 1870.

1880 Atlantic Twp., Monmouth Co., NJ: Jasper BODINE 18 NY farm laborer "Black"

The Monmouth (NJ) Democrat of 9 March 1882 reported Jasper Bodine, colored, was charged with committing an assault and battery and the issue of 23 March 1882 reported his sentence was suspended and he was released.

1885 Red Bank, Monmouth Co., NJ: William BODINE Over 60, Cornelia 20-60, Jasper 20-60, Daniel 5-20, Murray 5-20, Howard 0-4 All persons "Colored"

From The Monmouth (NJ) Inquirer of 30 Sept 1886.
Married. BODINE---SMITH. At Red Bank, September 1st, by Henry Belting, Miss Emma Bell Sharp Smith, of Pennington and Jasper Bodine of Red Bank.

From New Jersey Marriage Records:
Jasper Bodine and Emma B. S. Smith, 19, were married 1887 [sic] in Red Bank, Monmouth County.

His only known child, William, was born 17 Feb1890. There is no subsequent record of Jasper and he was not named as a survivor of his father's death in March 1913.
