Marylyn Ann Schmeal, 63, of Upper Mount Bethel, formerly of Northampton and Hackettstown, N.J., died Monday, June 5, in her home. She was the wife of the late John H. Schmeal Sr. who died in 1997. She was a waitress for the past few years. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Louis and Gertrude (VonBorstel) Gerhold. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Hamilton Square. Survivors: Daughters, Cherylyn Ehrhardt of Belvidere, N.J., Trudy Handelong of Ithaca, N.Y., Terri Donahoe of Bangor, Lou-Ann Sullivan of Henryville, Lisa Gilliland of Pocono Summit; sons, Guy Handelong of Bangor, Marcus C. Handelong of Pen Argyl; brother, Robert Gerhold of Morris Plains, N.J.; stepson, Jack Schmeal of St. George, Kan.; stepdaughters, Kathy Smith of Oldsmar, Fla, Margaret Kelly of Egg Harbor, N.J., Rosemary Zarger of St. George, Kan.; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday in the church. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. 9th St., Stroudsburg, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday in the church.
