Subject: Re: Good afternoon Mr. Bodine,
Good evening,
What I have found so far, is that George J. Bodine and Sarah Emeline Williams only ever had one child. Catherine and which later became Katherine was born on 26 August 1857 in Barnegat, Ocean, New Jersey according to the New Jersey, United Methodist Church Records, 1800-1970. New Jersey, Births and Christenings Index, 1660-1931 also show this to be the date,in Dover, Ocean, New Jersey. At the age of 12, Katherine was taken in by her Aunt Margaret Salter (Bodine) and Edwin Salter the historian, genealogist, etc. Years later, Katherine would marry a William Taylor Wilbert and have three children. Their oldest, Edward Wilbert would be adopted and raised by Edwin and Margaret Salter. Edward is my great-grandfather, there by making me a Tim Salter and not a Tim Wilbert, lol. Eventually, she ended up in Norfolk, Virginia with her sons Edward, Stacey and daughter Margaret. She died on Feb 22, 1935 and is buried in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, Norfolk City, Virginia. So thanks to your website, I was able to verify info that I found which matched up with what you have. Feel free to pick it apart if you like. Just let me know where my mistake's are so I can correct them, I would appreciate that.
Tim Salter
