Notice of Death

Oskaloosa Herald Sat 1-18-1951

Mrs. Lulu Alderman, 72, died at her home, 436 North Third Street, Oskaloosa, Saturday at 9:45 a.m., after a long illness. The body was brought to the Fremont funeral home. Arrangements have not yet been completed. Mr. and Mrs. Alderman farmed at Fremont before retiring and moving to Oskaloosa three years ago. Surviving are her husband, J. W. Alderman; two sons, Albert of New Sharon and Elmer of Ames; a daughter, Mrs. Thelma VanderWaal of Searsboro; and a sister, Mrs. Chester Roquet of Fremont.

Obituary

Alderman—Funeral services for Mrs. Lulu E. Alderman, 73, of 436 North Third Street, who died at her home Saturday, Jan. 13, 1951, were held at 2 p.m., today, at the Fremont Methodist church. Dr. W. M. Scheuermann and Rev. Martin Greer were in charge. Burial at the Cedar township cemetery at Fremont. Mrs. Alderman was born near Fremont and lived her entire life there, until she and her husband, J.W. Alderman, retired and moved to Oskaloosa a year ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Mrs. Thelma VanderWaal of Searsboro, Albert of New Sharon, and Elmer of Ames, and a sister, Mrs. Chester Roquet of Fremont.

***note from contributor*** Lulu King Alderman was the daughter of William Rodoff and Sarah Elizabeth McFall King. Her siblings were sisters Mary Belle King Yeoman, Catherine King Phillips, Florence King Roquet.
