Notes for: Peter A. Steenhoek

Peter Steenhoek, son of Arie A. and Johanna Steenhoek, nee van Ryswyk, was born November 10, 1898. He went to be with his Lord on Ascension Day morning, Tuesday, May 19, at the age of 56 years and 6 months. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.

He was married to Emma Vander Waal on January 10, 1923, more than 32 years ago. Surviving to mourn his departure are, besides Mrs. Emma Steenhoek, the two children, Betty Jean, wife of Lawrence Stravers, and Raymond Lloyd and his wife Beverly, parents of four grandchildren: Jan and David Stravers, and Jerry and Terry Steenhoek.

Others survivors are 4 brothers Gysbert, Dick, Henry and Bill, and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Schuttinga.

The family has continuously resided in Prairie City and been members of the local Christian Reform Church, of which Peter became a communicant member by profession of his faith in Christ as Saviour, on April 25 1920 more than 35 years ago.
