Funeral services were held June 16, 1984, at the Chapel of Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella for Mrs. Emma Vander Waal of Pella. Rev. Donald Plantinga officiated with interment in Graceland Cemetery in Pella.
Emma Vander Waal, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Van Gorp Hoksbergen, was born on October 4, 1897 at Pella. In 1920 she was married to Arie Vander Waal and to this union one daughter was born, Luella Rose. Emma passed away June 14, 1984 at the Pella Community Nursing Home in Pella.
Surviving are her daughter, Luella, Mrs. Charles Sorensen of Evergreen, Colo.; and among others her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Aalbers of Monroe.
