MONROE -- Mrs. Jessie Fennema Vander Waal, 79, of Apache Junction, Ariz., a former Monroe resident, died Wednesday, Jan.12, at Mesa, Ariz.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is in charge of arrangements which have not been completed.

Jessie M. Vander Waal

MONROE -- Funeral services for Jessie M. Fennema Vander Waal, 79, of Apache Junction, Ariz., a former resident of Monroe, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Monroe First Baptist Church.

The Rev. John Adams, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Friends may call after noon Saturday at the church.

Memorials to the Monroe First Baptist Church or the Monroe Library may be left at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.

Mrs. Vander Waal died Wednesday evening at the Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.

Survivors are a brother, Carl Fennema of Monroe; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, a step-son, Raleigh Vander Waal; three sisters; and a brother.

The daughter of Chester and Jennie Kaldenberg Fennema, she was born April 4, 1909 at Monroe and was a 1928 graduate of Monroe Community High School.

She was married to Roy Vander Waal Feb. 25, 1945 in Leon.

Mrs. Vander Waal had resided in Arizona since 1960.
