Notes for: Judson Young

Judson and Minnie Young lived on a farm in Tallman, NY. Judson was a carpenter and a farmer. Judson entered the Union Army in Feb. 1864. He enlisted G Co. 61st Inf Reg. NY; Mustered Out at Alexandria, VA on 14 July 1865; Transferred on 12 December 1816from Company G to Company D. He served under Grant in the Civil War at the Battle of the Wilderness (a 2 day battle in May of 1864.) He was later wounded, captured, imprisoned & then pardoned at Richmond, VA.

His great-grandson, Albert Van Houten, remembered attending a parade that was held to honor Judson as a Civil War veteran.
