Walton--The marriage of Miss Marian S. Storrer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Storrer of Walton and James T. Budine, also of Walton, took place May 28 in the Methodist Parsonage with the Rev. Henry G. Lincoln officiating.

Marian S. Budine, 80, a lifelong resident of Walton passed away Friday morning, May 11, 2012 at home in Walton, surrounded by her family. Marian was born on March 3, 1932 in Walton, the daughter of the late George and Elma (Carr) Storrer. She was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 1949. She was employed for many years first at the law office of Paul Eaton and later at the National Bank of Delaware County, first as secretary to the president and later as assistant vice-president of the bank. At the bank she wore many hats and always in the same style during her workdays-“quiet decorum”. She also worked for Attorney Francis Wood in the last few years, working on estates. Following “retirement” she did considerable volunteer work, at the Office of the Aging, the First United Methodist Church, Walton where she served as secretary treasurer for many years and the Haulenbeek Foundation. Marian also volunteered at the Delaware County Fair for years as the Horse Show secretary. Marian was a very independent and hardworking lady. She loved taking care of stray animals, going out to dinner and spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. Marian had a great love of horses, growing up on the family farm, and she raised many herself in her later years. Marian is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Cindy (Tom) Gleason, Walton and Valerie (Dan) Hitt, Walton, her grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Kazmierski, Aaron and Brayton Gleason, Crystal (Fred) Hitt, and Joseph (Laura) Hitt, great-grandchildren, Alaina, Kaitlin, Cristian and Dakota, nieces, Linda Storrer and Marcie Budine and several cousins. Marian was predeceased by a brother Raymond Storrer a sister, Doris Froehlich and a niece, Roxanne Sparling. In following Marian's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. There will be a brief memorial prayer by Pastor Mark at the First United Methodist Church, 101 North St., Walton, following the regular worship service at 9:30 AM on Sunday, May 13, 2012. Memorial contributions in Marian's memory may be to a charity of one's choice.
