Notes for: James Levi ESSARY Sr

James was a Freewill Baptist Preacher. By tradition "BLACK DUTCH". At age 75 he hitch-hiked to MS and married a girl that he had raised. We now know that the family was in Bell Co TX in 1870 and then in Brown Co TX in 1880 and James Levi was then found in the home of Tom W. Griffin in 1900 and was shown as a father in law of Tom. We also have records indicating that Tom was the husband of Melissa Jane. Melissa Jane was the only known child of the first marriage of James Levi.
