As of 1992, the marriage record of this family was located in Jones County. The 1850 Census of Jones County showed Granberry, age 23; Mary Ann, age 23; Amanda, age 6; John, age 3 and Sarah A., age 1. All were shown to have been born in Georgia. It appears probable that both the father and mother of this family had both perished prior to the taking of the 1860 Census. The children were found in the homes of an uncle and their grandparents (Newtons). The name is spelled both Bridger and Bridges among members of this family.
