Notes for: Pinckney Lout, Sr.

Pinckney married Elizabeth Bodine, the oldest child of John and Nancy Bodine. The marriage is thought to have taken place in San Augustine, but no record of this exists. Censuses indicate that Pinckney was from Indiana and that he was a merchant, trader and probably a teamster as well. As related by family members, Pinckney was shot to death by the wife of a shopkeeper in the village of San Augustine regarding the purchase of a pig. John Bodine and then Nancy Bodine served as administrator and administratrix of his estate.
