Notes for: Wilson B. Bodine
We are assuming that Wilson is the son of Joseph and Leah Bodine. This needs more investigation, though. We are also assuming that Wilson and Barton are his sons. See the notes below.
From Ronny Bodine:
Wilson Bodine is here ASSUMED to be the son of Joseph Bodine and if such is confirmed undoubtedly named him after his younger half-brother Wilson. All persons were residents of Burlington County and Joseph Bodine appears to be the only possible candidate in Burlington County to accomodate this relationship.
Wilson B. Bodine is named as the father of William H. Bodine in the latter's 1904 death record. As William Bodine was living 1850 in Bordentown, Burlington Co., NJ, his father could have been none other than the Wilson Bodine also living in Burlington County. Furthermore, son William's age in 1850 of 26 is a perfect fit into the appropriate age group in Wilson's family in 1830 and 1840.
1830 Northampton Twp., Burlington Co., NJ:
Wilson BODINE. males 2(0-4), 2(5-9), 1(30-39); females 1(5-9), 1(20-29).
1840 Chesterfield Twp., Burlington Co., NJ:
WILSON BODINE. males 2(10-14), 1(40-49); females 2(5-9), 1(40-49)
It is uncertain if the female aged 20-29 in 1830 (=born 1801-10) and 40-49 in 1840 (=born 1791-1800) is the same person, born perhaps 1800-01.
Wilson and Barton are unusual names and all of these folks lived in Bordentown Township, Burlington County at some time. Wilson B. Bodine is undoubtedly identical with the Wilson Bodine, born 1791-1800, living in Burlington County in 1830 and 1840, apparently dead before 1850, and likely before 1848 as he does not appear in the death records of that county which begin that year. His family groupings include 2 sons born 1821-5, 2 born 1826-30 and 1 daughter born 1821-5. It is here ASSUMED that William H. Bodine, born 1824, was one of the sons and Barton, born 1825-6 was one of the other. Barton even named his eldest son William Henry, perhaps after his brother.
