Clara is the daughter of Oliver D. and Emma F. (Harling) Kries. Oliver being the brother of Enos Bodine's wife Irene Kries. In 1930, Clara K. Bodine, 25 NJ employed as a cooper in a hoisery mill, is identified as the adopted daughter of Enos and Irene Bodine of Washington Township, Warren County, New Jersey.

Services were held last Thursday morning in the DeVoe Funeral Home, Washington, for Ellis W. Fitts, 68, who was found dead at his home, Washington, R.D. 1, on Monday, August 7, 1972. The Rev. Walter H. MacMillan, associate pastor of the Washington Presbyterian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Washington Cemetery. Born December 17, 1903, in Washington Township, Warren County, Mr. Fitts was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Lynn Fitts. His wife, the former Clara B. Bodine, died December 19, 1970. He was employed as a custodian at the Washington Township Elementary School in Port Colden and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Washington. Survivors are a son, Bruce E. of Chicago; and a brother, Lester of Washington.
