William P. Leonard, assistant manager of the Standard Oil Co.'s local plant, died this morning at 4 o'clock at his home, 679 Santa Rosa street. His was the second death in February of influenza-pneumonia. Mr. Leonard was a native son of California, born in Ventura county in 1884. He was reared in San Luis Obispo and attended the public schools here. A member of the local lodges of Elks, Knights of Columbus and Woodmen of the World, a man known far and wide in this section, the community mourns with the members of his family and intimate friends the loss of a man of conspicuous ability who has been called by death while in the prime of active life. The decedent is survived by his wife, Mrs. William Bordine Leonard, two small sons, William and George Leonard, and an aunt, Miss Mamie Curran. The funeral announcement will be made later. Deceased was a member of the 98th Co. of the California Military Reserve. Remains will be taken to the Elks' hall this evening. Funeral from the Elks' hall tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 10 o'clock.
