Nellie Evelyn (INGALLS) BORDINE passed to her eternal home Feb. 25, 2000, at the Laurels of Mount Pleasant. She was born July 2, 1902, to Elmer and Josephine (PETERSON) INGALLS on the family farm near Charlevoix. Nellie taught fourth-grade in Petoskey in 1924-25. After her marriage to Kenneth Thorn BORDINE, they lived six years in Alanson, where Kenneth was superintendent of schools and Nellie taught English, Latin and home economics. Nellie leaves her two daughters, Lyndell GIBBS and Virginia (Ray) KOHR; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service was 10:30 a.m. today, Monday, Feb. 28, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1250 Watson Road, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Stephen Shugert officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee, Mich., with the Rev. David and the Rev. Gretchen Seidler Gibbs presiding. Nellie's family received friends Sunday at the Helms Funeral Home, 330 S. University Ave., Mount Pleasant; and from 10 a.m. until the time of service today at the church.
