Joanne C. Bodine, age 75 of Powers Lake, WI, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Hospice Alliance Residential Facility, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Joanne was born on July 8,1939 in Chicago to Charles and Anne (Loughlin) Lynch. On September 11,1965 she married Donald Bodine. Joanne was a loving wife, mother and a doting grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was very devoted and played an active role in her grandchildren's lives. Her loving direction and guidance was second to none. Joanne always recognized and put the needs of those around her before her own. Joanne was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following politics on Fox News. She enjoyed dancing and once appeared on American Bandstand. Joanne traveled the world and had many adventurous stories regarding her travels. Survived by her husband, Donald; children, Paul (Mary) Bodine, Beth (Walter) Bodine - Wadzinski, Amy (Raymond) Jones; grandchildren, Frank, Rayanne, Calvin, Suzy, Wesley, Jack, Samantha, Karrie, Tom; brothers, John (Judy) Lynch, Charlie (Pat) Lynch; sister, Peggy (Jerry) O'Malley; son in-law, Frank Tedesso and her faithful companion, Gidget. Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Laura Tedesso. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at All Saint's Catholic Cemetery Chapel. 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL. Donald R. Bodine, of Powers Lake, WI., passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Don was born on Tuesday, November 26, 1940, in Chicago, to William and Elizabeth (Dunne) Bodine. On September 11, 1965, he married the love of his life, Joanne Lynch, Married for almost 50 years. Don was raised on the south side of Chicago. He was a Navy man, and proud of his service as a signalman aboard the Northampton, in the early 1960's. Don worked most of his career in banking and finance, most notably at Central States Teamsters Pension Fund, retiring in 2003. Don was a camping and canoeing enthusiast, and enjoyed taking the family out as often as he could and did so before the kids could even walk! He could always be found outdoors, and it was rare to ever find him without a suntan "Gotta get my rays", he would exclaim. Don was an avid world traveler cruising across all continents with his wife. Don was an avid reader in his spare time. He had a great sense of humor and always was a kind and gentle man. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa who adored spending time with the grandchildren. Don achieved his dream to have a house on a lake where he lived for 30 years on Powers Lake. He was fortunate to have enjoyed 20 years of fun after retirement.
Survived by his children, Paul (Mary) Bodine, Beth (Walter) Bodine-Wadzinski, Amy (Raymond) Jones; Grandchildren Frank, Thomas, Rayanne, Calvin, Suzy, Wesley, Jack, Samantha, Karrie; Sister, Betty Bodine; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne (April 5, 2015); daughter, Laura; brother, Bill; sister, Maura; beloved dogs, Red and Gidget. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081. Friends and neighbors can meet at 11:00A.M. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016 as we will be gathering in the cemetery chapel for committal prayers followed by military honors.
