Notes for: Emanuel Peter Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

From St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pa.
Married 9 May 1903 at St. Luke's, Emanuel Peter Bodine, 21, of Scranton, son of William H. Bodine AND Margaret Brown, 21, of Moosic, Pa., daughter of John Brown, were married by Israel Rogers, clergyman.

From The Scranton Republican (Scranton, Pa.) of Thursday, 30 June 1904.
Mrs. Emmanuel Bodine, of Tenth avenue, created considerable excitement at about six o'clock last evening by attempting to commit suicide by drinking from a small bottle of oil of cloves at a barn on the above mentioned thoroughfare occupied by a man named Rozelle. The woman was dicovered by a neighbor lying in the barn moaning and very hysterical. The tell-tale vial was near her plainly indicating what she had swallowed. The police were notified, the West Side hospital ambulance was summoned and she was taken to that institution. She was soon discharged, being seemingly none the worse for her experience. Jealousy is said to have been the cause of her rash act. Mrs. Duggan, agent for Associated Charities, took charge of Mrs. Bodine's young child.

From The Scranton Truth (Scranton, Pa.) of Monday, 1 May 1905.
Mrs. Emanuel Bodine and son, Earl, were Scranton callers Saturday.
