Notes: Jooste arrived in Ulster County in 1658, where he erected a grist mill. He went back and forth to Holland several times. He was married twice before, to Femmetje Hendricksen, who removed back to the old country after being abducted by Indians. After the death of Elizabeth Crom, he removed to Bushwick, on Long Island where he married Maritje Hays., in 1682. He died on Long Island in 1683. At least one of his children removed to Somerset County New Jersey, with Jooste Jans Van Meteren, this was his youngest son Hendrickse. Willem died in Newton New York, in 1753. Jooste lived in Kingston New York, and on Long Island. These are the only two places I have found him.
