Lawrence Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Nichols of Corning and Miss Deborah Bodine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bodine of RD, Newark, were married at the Port Gibson Baptist Church on 15 August by the Rev. John Kutun. Miss Shirley Bodine, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

WILLARD - Lawrence G. Nichols, age 71, longtime resident of Prospect Street, passed away at the Wayne County Nursing Home on Friday, November 30, 2018. Interment will be held privately at Hope Cemetery in South Corning. Larry was born in Corning, New York on April 29, 1947, a son of the late H. Lawrence and Thelma (Folnsbee) Nichols. He was a 1965 graduate of West High School and received his associates degree from Corning Community College in 1969. Larry was married to Deborah G. Bodine on August 15, 1970. Prior to a debilitating stroke at the age of 29, he had been a mental health group leader at the Meadow House in Ithaca. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debbie of Willard; his children, Michael (Christy) Nichols of Horseheads, Michelle (Roger) Blaisdell of Holiday, Florida and Jennifer (Jon) Dufour of Ovid; his granchildren, Patrick (Carly) Nichols, Alex (Kaylee) Smith, Ethan Smith, Joshua Smith, Ian, Samuel and Anna Dufour and Nathan Nichols, and great granddaughters, Devin Marie Smith and Alena Lanich; and a brother, Curtis (Susan) Nichols of Vermont. WILLARD/NEWARK - Deborah G. Bodine Nichols, age 71, longtime resident of Prospect Street in Willard, passed away peacefully at the home of her sister in Newark. Debbie was born in Clifton Springs on September 13, 1948, a daughter of the late Russell and Catherine (DeRycke) Bodine. She worked as a registered nurse at Willard Psychiatric Center from 1969 to 1995, and Elmira Psychiatric Center from 1995 until her retirement in 2003. Debbie was married to Larry G. Nichols on August 15, 1970. She is survived by her children Michelle (Roger) Blaisdell of Holiday, Fla., Michael (Christy) Nichols of Willard and Jennifer (Jon) Dufour of Ovid; her grandchildren Patrick (Carly) Nichols, Alex (Kaylee) Smith, Ethan Smith, Joshua Smith, Ian, Samuel and Anna Dufour and Nathan Nichols; and great-grandchildren Devin Marie, Alden Smith and Alena Lanich; her special caregiver, friend and companion, Kelli Mero; her siblings Robert (Virginia) Bodine, Andrew (Denise) Bodine and Shirley (Mark) Withey, all of Newark, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
