My name is Frank Germanson and Sarah Germanson Bodin was my great grandfather James younger sister. You had information about her children Mamie and Adelia and their spouses that I didn't have. I have info about their daughter Amanda Corrigan, and sons William Christian and Julius Sylvan, including pictures of the headstones of Sarah and William, daughter Lydia, and son Julius Sylvan and wife Hildegard. I am also interested if you have any information on a Frank Bodine, husband of Sarah's younger sister Emma and father to their daughter Alvina M. Bodine. Frank and Emma married in Port Washington in the mid 1890's, and daughter Alvina was born in 1897. Emma died in 1902 at the age of 35 and Alvina was adopted according to the 1910 census. I have no idea what happened to Frank, but Alvina was listed as a boarder in the 1920 census in Door County. She had a different last name. I don't know if that was her adopted name or had been married and divorced. I have this information in my private family tree. If you would like access to my materials let me know. I'll send you an invitation to my tree.

Just sent an email to you regarding the William and Sarah Bodin extended family. Sarah's baby sister Emma Germanson (December 5, 1867-June 21, 1902)married a Swede named Frank Bodine born Sep 1863. They married on June 29, 1895 and had daughter Alvina M. Bodine in Feb of 1897. Emma died in 1902. In the 1910 census it listed Alvina as adopted. Neither she or Frank were listed in the 1920 census. 1930 census had an Alvina M Bodine Renier in Door County, Wisconsin, but could not find in the 1940 census. Any suggestions?

Dave-- I do not have this family. I also looked into finding Alvina and could not. The Alvina Bodine Renier in 1930 is in Brown County, not Door County, Wisconsin and the ages differ by 3 years. Also, she was single in 1930 so I suspect she may be a different person. Otherwise, Alvina Bodin/Bodine just disappeared after 1910.

Frank Bodine was born in Sep 1863 in Sweden. He married Emma Germanson on June 29, 1895. Alvina M. Bodine, their daughter, was born in Feb 1897. Emma passed away in 1902 where Frank and Alvina were listed as staying with Emma's sister Mary's widower Andrew Newman in 1905. I could not find Frank after that bit of information. I know according to mthe 1910 census Alvina was listed as adoped by a Victoria Koch, age 70, and her son Andrew, aged 43, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
Emma Germanson was born on 5 Dec 1867 in Port washington, Wisconsin, the youngest child of Christopher Germanson and Marit Pedersdatter. Married Frank Bodine on 29 jun 1895 in Milaukee, Wisconsin. She died of tubercolosis on 21 Jun 1902. While her death certificate says she was buried in Union Cemetery in Port Washingon, the cemetery has no record of her burial.

Went to Union Cemetery today and checked their card catalogue for Bodin or Bodines. None there. Graceland Cemetery checked for them there and came up empty.
