Notes for: Wesley Bodine, Sr.
Wesley Bodine's will of May 27, 1858 was filed in Sevier County, Tennessee. He therein named his wife, Mary and 2 children, William Oliver and Wesley (Sevier Co. Wills, 1:50).
From Ronny Bodine:
In his will, Francis Bodine bequeathed to his son a half-share of the land he and his brother Francis were to receive upon the death of their mother Anna. Unfortunately, both Francis and Wesley predeceased their mother. Upon the death of his brother Francis in 1843, Wesley became one of his three heirs-in-law.
Wesley was married, probably in 1855 and most definitly prior to 7 April 1856 from which date extant Sevier County marriage records exist. In his will of 27 May 1858, Wesley left all his property to his wife, Mary, with the land to be divided among his two children upon the death of his wife. The year of his death, 1858, is mentioned in the lawsuit initiated by his nephew William Patterson in 1888.
On 4 Sept 1859, Wesley's widow, Mary Bodine, married Calvin Clinton. Calvin and Mary Clinton were buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sevier County.
