Notes for: Jackson ("Jack") L. Naugher

Jackson married Malinda Low in 1868. His third wife was Mary McFall. They married in 1885. Other information, from MBP, says his name was Jack Nauber.

From Ronny Bodine:

Jane Bodine was the first child of Francis Bodine by his second wife Anna. Unlike her elder siblings, Jane received one of the larger bequests in her father's will. In the will, Francis Bodine wrote, "I give and bequeath to my beloved Daughter Jane Bodine, one Bed and furniture and one heifer."

In the lawsuit initiated by William Patterson, her cousin, and brought before the Sevier County court on 24 Feb 1888, Jane Bodine is mentioned as having been one of the three heirs of her brother Francis upon his death in 1843. It is further stated that Jane was the wife of Jack Naugher and that her only heir was a daughter, Jane, who was married to James Johnson.

Sevier County marriage records show that on 5 Feb 1862 Jackson L. Naugher married Mary A. E. Burdine. It is unclear why Jane was identified as Mary A. E. Jane died within six years, as on 24 July 1868 Jackson L. Naugher was married to Malinda Low. In 1885 he married his third wife, Mary McFall.

Jackson L. Naugher served in Company E, 1st Tennessee Light Artillery during the Civil War. The 1870 Sevier County census reported his occupation as farm laborer.
