Notes for: Gale Lynn Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

Obituary, The Monroe (Mich.) News of 2 Nov 2015.
Gale Lynn Bodine was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 21, 1948. She was one of two children born from the union of the late John W. Bodine and the late Cathleen “Kate” (McDonald) Bodine. She attended school in Monroe and Ypsilanti, graduating from Ypsilanti High School in 1982. Gale worked for over 20 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant with St. Joseph Hospital and enjoyed her work as a home health care specialist until she retired in 1995. She enjoyed visiting different bingo halls and listening to the blues. She would go to Kokomo, Indiana, every summer to enjoy the Abate of Indiana's Annual Boogie; a festival of food, music, and bikes. Gale also enjoyed shopping, especially at Kmart, and watching Lifetime movies. One of Gale's favorite pastimes was cooking, and while everything she made was great, including her fried chicken, her friends and family know that her bbq ribs were the BEST bbq ribs. The real joy of Gale's life was her family. Gale Lynn Bodine, age 67, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015, at home under Great Lakes Caring Hospice care. To cherish her memory, Gale leaves a loving daughter: Kellie Bodine of Monroe; a foster son: Ramone Payne of Monroe; a sister: Gloria Yensch of Monroe; two grandchildren: Kayla Bodine and Keira Reed; one great-grandchild: Anaya Lynn Rose Bodine-Johnson; her lifelong companion of 35 years: Johnnie Giles of Ypsilanti; one nephew: Derek (Molly) Hurst; and many friends, especially Art Overstreet at Magnum Care. Gale's family would like to thank the Magnum Care of Monroe Staff, and the ProMedica Monroe staff for their special, loving care during Gale's illness.
