Notes for: George Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

George Bodine enlisted 12 May 1861 and was assigned on 20 Jan 1862 to Company L, 1st Ohio Light Artillery Battery. He was promoted to Full Corporal 21 July 1862 and to Full Sergeant on 18 Oct 1864. On 19 Oct 1864 he was wounded at the Battle of Cedar Creek. He was promoted to Full First Sergeant on 19 March 1865. He was mustered out on 4 July 1865 at Columbus, Ohio. He died 24 Dec 1865 and was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Portsmouth, Ohio.

Hampshire County Marriage Records: George Bodine, age 26, a native of Hamilton Co., Ohio, son of George and Elizabeth Bodine was married to Sarah Francis Long, age 17, daughter of Daniel H. and Rebecca S. Long, was married 21 Aug 1865.
