Raymond Andrews, 20, of Detroit, machinist, born in NY, son of Milton Andrews & Flora Miller AND Beatrice Bodine, 18, of Detroit, born in MI, daughter of Amos and Amanda Bodine, were married 22 June 1918 in Detroit by Raymond Huston, Clergyman.
Vaughn Bryson, 21, of Detroit, driver, born in NC, son of Aron Bryson & Lydia White AND Beatrice Bodine, 18, of Detroit, cashier, born in MI, daughter of Amos Bodine & Amanda Miller, were married 19 Nov 1920 in Detroit by John F. McKinley, Justice.
On 12 Sept 1918, Raymond Andrews registered for the World War 1 draft in Detroit, Michigan's Wayne County Jail. He reported he was born 20 July 1898, worked as a machinist, and Beatrice Andrews, his wife, was his next of kin. In Jan 1920, Raymond Andrews 21, born in Penn. (though his parents were born in NY), married, was an inmate in the Michigan State Prison in Jackson, Jackson County.
The Detroit Free Press of 1 Nov 1929 recounts his long criminal career from his first arrest on 6 June 1915 for breaking and entering until 31 Oct 1929 when he was sentenced to from 35 to 50 years in Marquette prison for the fourth felony of which he was convicted--kidnapping. The list of convictions included 18 Oct 1919 when he was sentenced to from one to five years in Jackson prison for automobile theft. It was also noted that he was born in Susquehanna, Pa. and in 1919 was divorced by his first wife. He remarried in 1923.
