Jack E. Bodine, 27, of Ypsilanti, Michigan , born in Lansing, Michigan, son of William Bodine & Helen Sullivan AND Joyce A. Morten, 25, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, born in Colon, Michigan, dau. of Thomas P. Morten & Madge Duncan, were married 25 June 1949 in Ann Arbor.

Jack Edwin Bodine of Chelsea, formerly of Ann Arbor, died Friday afternoon, April 20, 2007 at Chelsea Community Hospital after a long illness. He was 85. Mr. Bodine was born in Lansing, grew up in Ann Arbor, and graduated from St. Thomas High School where he was a member of the football and basketball teams. He always loved football, especially Notre Dame. He also loved planning trips with his friends, weekends at the cottage and vacationing with his family. His hobbies were golfing, bowling, and taking occasional trips with the seniors to the casino. He also enjoyed attending his class reunions. Mr. Bodine was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army. He worked for Ford Motor Co. as an executive engineer at Wayne Assembly Plant for 35 years. For many years after he retired, he continued to conduct tours at Ford, which he greatly enjoyed. He married Joyce Morten on June 25, 1949 and resided in Ann Arbor for over 50 years. In 2004, four years after Joyce passed away, he moved from his home in Ann Arbor to Chelsea. He was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was on the Church Council. He also attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea with his family. Mr. Bodine is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. (Robert A.) Cooper of Chelsea; four grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Bobby, and Christopher Cooper; brother, Merrill (June) Bodine of Denver, Col.; two nephews, Michael Bodine of Ga. and Allen Bodine of Col.; niece, Julie Martin of Michigan and cousin, Roberta Dykstra of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce on May 29, 2000 and his parents, Helen and William Bodine. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, April 24, 2006 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 530 Elizabeth Street, Ann Arbor with Fr. Jeffrey Njus officiating. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery. Those who desire may direct memorial contributions to Chelsea Community Hospital or the charity of choice.
