San Francisco, California - Caleb Michael Bodine , 29, of Sacramento, CA passed away of tragic circumstances on November 23, 2021 in San Francisco. Caleb was born on November 1, 1992 in Carmichael, California to Chris and Candi Bodine . He has a sister Chelsie, age 34 and a brother Colin age 33. Caleb attended Mission Ave Elementary school, Arcade Middle School, Rio Americano High School, and El Cerrito Independent study. He graduated from El Cerrito in 2011. At the ceremony he played his guitar and sang "In my life" by the Beatles "Though I know I'll never lose affection for people and things that went before, I know I'll often stop and think about them, in my life I love you more" There were many sides to Caleb. He was clever and funny and made our family laugh a lot and we still have some family jokes from him that we will say forever. He was a gifted athlete and played soccer for 11 years and rugby in high school. He loved music and playing the guitar. He loved to read and especially loved Orson Scott Card's Enders Game. He was very intelligent and interesting and had strong ideas he loved to share for businesses or his future. He would do anything for a dollar just to make people laugh. He took a great interest in food and cooking and loved a good grocery store. He had an incredibly generous and loving heart and had compassion for all people and was never judgmental of peoples circumstances. He will be loved and missed by his family and we will keep him in our hearts forever. Caleb is survived by his Parents Chris and Candi Bodine , his sister Chelsie Brecher and her husband John and their twin daughters Charlotte and Joelle and his brother Colin Bodine and his wife Jenna and their daughter Arlo. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and cousins who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert Kotzen and Joie de Vivre, as well as Patricia McAbier and Jesse Bodine.

Caleb Michael Bodine was born in 1992 on the first day of November, the third child of Candi and Chris Bodine. Caleb's older brother, Colin, and my son, Richard, were friends throughout school. The wife and I met Candi and Chris when our children were in kindergarten and we cheered together from the football field stands as our sons graduated from high school.
All three of the Bodine children grew up in a loving and supportive family, but all the love and attention and support and law enforcement intervention could not prevent Caleb from falling into a downward spiral of drugs and petty crime. He died, homeless, on the streets of San Francisco on Nov. 23, 2021. He was only 29 years old.
