Notes for: William Wycliffe

I think this may be the son of the Ambrose Wycliffe who married Martha Morton. That is only a guess, though.

I'm making quite a guess here, but I'm going to assume that all the baptisms for William and Mary Wycliffe listed in the Whorlton Registers refer to this couple. This couple was married in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but that is not too far from Whorlton. It's in Northumberland County and Whorlton is in Durham County, but that is not that great a distance. Their marriage year 1783 is right before the baptisms for this family seem to start in 1784. Anyway, this relationship needs more proof, but I'll go with it for now.

His name was spelled Wicliffe and Wyckcliffe in the baptism records.
