Notes for: John Bodine
My wild guess right now is that this John Bodine could be a son of John W. Bodine and Barbara Smithgall. John and Barbara had at least two sons born in PA between 1810 and 1820, but I don't know their names. And John W. Bodine's first cousin Joseph Bodine (husband of Elizabeth Thomas) ended up in Putnam Co., OH.
From Ronny Bodine:
This John Bodine could be the son of Jacob Bodine and Mary Pickel's son John W. Bodine and John's wife Barbara Smithgall. John and Barbara's children were born in PA and at least two sons were born between 1810-1820, but I don't know their names. I think this John you sent me might come from this line since several cousins of this line ended up in Putnam County, Ohio. Joseph Bodine and Elizabeth Thomas seemed to be living in Putnam County for a while. I have several of their children born there. Joseph Bodine was a first cousin to John W. Bodine.

Levina (Coit) Bodine was the daughter of Edwin and Hulda (Woodruff) Coit. The spelling of her first name varies in the records: Lavina, Lavinna, Levina, and Lovina. John Bodine appears to have died after the 1860 census as on 13 Jan 1864 in Putnam County Lovina Bodine married James Foley (born 29 Oct 1820 in Franklin County, Ohio) and was living with him June 1880 in Kalida, Putnam County.
The 1927 Michigan death certificate of their only surviving child, Nancy Jane Ayers, named her parents as John Bodine (born in Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and Lavina Coyt (born in Columbus, Ohio). The information was provided by her son-in-law, F. A. Smith.
Burials in Union Township Cemetery, Kalida, Putnam County, Ohio.
