ROMULUS - Sara A. Strauss, 77, died peacefully Thursday (December 9, 2021) at Geneva General Hospital. In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday (December 18) at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2414 NY-414 Waterloo, NY, 13165. Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Calvary Lutheran Church, 2414 NY-414, Waterloo, NY, 13165. Sara was born August 4, 1944, in Geneva, N.Y., the daughter of Mansel and Dorothy Ferguson Bodine. Sara was 1962 graduate of Romulus Central High School. She was a graduate of Marion S. Whelan School of Practical Nursing in Geneva, N.Y. Sara was employed as an LPN with Denver Children's Hospital in Denver, Colo. and St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver, Colo. She was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Alan C. Strauss; children, Alaric (Julie) Strauss of Geneva, N.Y., Erik Strauss of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and Derek (Jennifer) Strauss of Jim Thorpe, Pa.; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexander, Christopher Joseph "CJ", and Karl; sisters, Bonnie Shufelt of Coeymans, N.Y. and Andrea (Fred) Mensch of Pittsfield, Mass.; three nieces and three nephews.
