Notes for: Charles J. Bodine
In the 1900 Census from Moline, IL, he said he immigrated in 1886. His wife also said 1886. I think another census record said 1885. The name on his tombstone is supposedly Charles J. Bodine. Some census records have put Charles D. Bodine. It could be either.

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Bodine, 1713 Twelfth street, were held in the home at 2 and in Salem Lutheran church at 2:30 yesterday afternoon. The Rev. W. X. Magnuson was in charge of the services. Esther Malmrose sang. Pallbearers were Herman Larson, Gut Arvidson, Fritz Toline, C. A. Berg, John Swanson and Andrew Jacobson. Burial was in the family lot in Riversdie cemetery.

Charles J. Bodine, 75, of 1713 Twelfth street, Moline, died suddenly of a heart attack at 2 o'clock this morning in his home. Mr. Bodine formerly was employed for 50 years as a benchman at John Deere Plow works, retiring in 1934. He had resided in Moline for 65 years. He was born in Sweden Feb. 1, 1869, and came to Moline as a boy. On May 27, 1899, he married Sophie Carlson in Moline. She died in 1928. Mr. Bodine was a member of the Viking lodge. Surviving are two daughters, Alice Bodine at home and Mrs. Edmond Erickson of Moline; a brother, Andrew E. Bodine and a sister, Miss Emma Bodine, both of Marion, Ind., and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in Esterdahl chapel, with the Rev. W. X. Magnuson, pastor of Salem Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Riversdie cemetery.
