On July 25, 1992, William L. Bodine, Sr. of Stonehaven, beloved husband of Mary Bodine (nee Vavrek), devoted father of William L. Bodine, Jr., and John E. Bodine, and father-in-law of Dara Lee, and Diana L. Bodine, dear sister [sic] of Anna Raitt. Also survived by four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the McCully Funeral Home of Pasadena, 3204 Mountain road, on Monday and Tuesday, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Prayer Service on Wednesday at 11 A.M. Interment in Glen Haven Memorial Park.

Mary Bodine (nee Vavrek), 88, of Glen Burnie, died October 25 at her home due to complications from a stroke. She was born Nov. 21, 1921, to the late John and Helen Vavrek, and grew up in Bon Aire, Pa. She lived in Glen Burnie for over 50 years. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and making dolls. She had an extensive collection of homemade porcelain dolls. She also enjoyed playing bingo and watching game shows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bodine Sr.; son, William Bodine Jr.; four brothers, John, Joseph, Robert and Edward Vavrek; and sister, Irene Vavrek. She is survived by her son, John Bodine and his wife Diana of Glen Burnie; three brothers, William Vavrek of Carney, Michael Vavrek of Davies, Fla. and Raymond Vavrek of Silver Spring; sister, Helen Pacak of Perry Hall; four grandchildren, Melanie Dillon, Jonathan Bodine, Heather Puglisi and Hollie Bohle; and eight great-grandchildren, Trey and Olivia Dillon, Jacob, Haylee, Joshua, and Lilly Bohle, and Tyler and Caitlin Bodine. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27 and from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 28 at the family-owned and operated McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A., 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, where Catholic prayer services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 29.
