In June 1900, Edwin H. Avery lived with his family in Liberty Township, Shelby County, Indiana engaged in farming. He reported that in 25 years of marriage his wife had borne 4 children all of whom were living. In Jan 1910, the family lived in Aransas County, Texas and in Jan 1920 in Montague County, Texas.

Mrs. Emma L. Avery, 81 years old, a native Indianian and a resident of Texas 25 years, died yesterday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joel G. Wilmoth, 15 West 28th street. Mrs. Avery was born in Norristown Jan. 9, 1858, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Milton Bodine. She was married to Edwin Leslie Avery April 6, 1875, in Greensburg. The couple lived in Indiana until 1907. Mr. and Mrs. Avery then moved to Texas where Mrs. Avery remained until the death of her husband in 1932. She has made her home with her children since. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Wilmoth and Mrs. Ree Wysong, both of Indianapolis and Mrs. Horace R. Furnas of Oakland, Cal.; a son, E. Scott Avery of Bowie, Tex.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be in Bowie. Friends may call at the Flanner & Buchanan mortuary here until 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.
