Ruth Elizabeth Budine North FRANKLIN - Ruth Elizabeth “Oma” Budine North, 85, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta. Oma was born April 22, 1929, in Walton, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Mildred (VanAkin) Budine. She married Charles Wesley North on June 22, 1946, in the Franklin Methodist Church. He predeceased her on Oct. 30, 1989. She was a parts inspector for the Bendix Company in Sidney for 40 plus years. Her hobbies included QVC, Barbie collection, crocheting, bowling, cards and the annual Budine Reunion. Oma is survived by her children, Charles and Dorothy North III, Linda and Bill Weishapl, Fred and Cindy North, and Tina and Wayne Johnson; her grandchildren, Mary White, Charles North IV, Aimee Kao, Brenda Hogsett, Elizabeth North, Danny Youngs II, Shannon Morrison, Justin Youngs, Monica North, George North, Andrew North, Steffanie Richards, Dylan Rushton and Abby Johnson. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Haylee, Robby, Noah, Jadeyn, Charles, Nancy, A.J., Collin, Meghan, Christian, Dustin, Annaya, McKylby, Halayah, Keyilah, Hannah, Madyson, Emma, Sadie, Mayson, Danny III, Cassandra, Courtney, Thomas, Elijah, Jacob, Emma, Gage, Kayla, Tyler, Justin II, Addison, Kylie, Lorilei, Trenton, Miles, Colin, and twins are due; her great-great- grandchildren, Zane, Carter, Maya and two babies are due (McKaylee Elizabeth and Addylan Ruth). Oma was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Charles North; her sisters, Dorothy Smith, Doris Marsico and Florence Kozlowski; and her brother, Harry Budine. Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin with the Rev. David Rockwell, officiating. Immediately following the graveside service, friends are invited to a reception at the 6th Ward Athletic Club on West Broadway in Oneonta. There will be no calling hours.
