Dianna Lea Wende a longtime resident of Wheaton. Visitation for Dianna Lea Wende, 67, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton. Funeral prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Born Sept. 1, 1943, in St. Paul, Minn., to Rosemary and the late Wayne Bodine, she died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at 7:03 p.m., after seven years of a courageous battle against cancer. She passed peacefully at Elmhurst Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Dianna was the beautiful and beloved wife of Hollis for 47 years; devoted mother of Laura (Justin) Halpenny and Joseph (Tracy); loving grandmother of Jake, Lily and Sean Halpenny, and James, Charlie and Elizabeth Wende; cherished sister of Elsie Dieden and Michael (Eunice) Bodine; dear sister-in-law to Larry (Marge) Wende, Bob (Joan) Wende and Violet Odell; and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many cousins and friends. Dianna had a tremendous strength of body, mind and spirit, which made her an inspiration to all who knew her and cared about her.
