Notes for: William Francis Alfred Bodine, Sr.
From Ronny Bodine (Nov. 27, 2022):
In April 1910, William Bodine lived with his wife and son in Chicago where he worked as a foreman. He reported he had been married 3 years and his wife had borne one child. In April 1930, he lived with his family in Chicago working as an oiler for a packing house. In 1942, he registed for the World War II draft as a resident of Chicago and stated he was employed by the Christian Relief Workers of America. He named Mrs. A. Schmidt (his daughter) as his next of kin. His wife, Julia, was the daughter of Valentine Conroy. Her death was recorded in Illinois as Lulu Bodine and she was buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Chicago.
The birth of William Francis Bodine on 10 June 1887 in Chicago to Frank Bodine and Sarah Vickers was recorded in the birth records of Chicago. When he registered for the World War 1 draft on 5 June 1917 in Chicago he did so as William Alfred Bodine, born 10 June 1887 in Chicago. One must conclude that his name was a combination of all four, William Francis Alfred or William Alfred Francis. In the 1930 census he appears as William A. Bodine and his son as William A. Jr.
From the Illinois Death Certificate of William Bodine, widowed: born 10 June 1884 in Chicago, died 31 March 1956 in Chicago and Buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park. Edwin R. Pelton, informant.
