Isaac and Shirley Bodine were buried at First cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Bardstown, Nelson County. Isaac Bodine served as a U.S. Army PFC in the Korean War.

Shirley Marie Bodine, 70, Bardstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at her residence. She was the former Shirley Fryrear, a native of Nelson County, a homemaker, and a member of the First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She was an avid outdoors enthusiast who loved to hunt and fish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Eugene “Ike” Bodine; her parents, Emmett and Buford Bowman Fryrear; and a brother, Kenny Fryrear. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Bodine and Mike (Lisa) Bodine, both of Bardstown; five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Allen) Walcott, and Ruby (Meryl) Smith, both of Bardstown; and a brother, Rodman (Connie) Fryrear, Lincoln, Neb. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Tim Lucas will officiate. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Greenwell Houghlin Northside Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery fund. Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
