Notes for: Melvin ("Mel") E. Bodine / Beaudine

From Ronny Bodine:

In April 1930, Melvin Bodine lived with his mother in Waterloo, Black Hawk County. The family name was recorded as Beaudine. Local newspapers also recorded his name as Melvin Beaudine through October 1932, though earlier he was reported as Melvin Bodine. Clearly, based on the following obituary, he retained the Beaudine spelling. Evelyn (Mertes) Beaudine was the daughter of John H. and Emma B. Mertes.
