From The Knickerbocker News (Albany, NY) of 19 Nov 1942: Miss Marion V. Bodine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bodine of Brooklyn AND Sgt. Buford A. Evington, U.S. Army, were married 16 Oct 1942 in the South Baptist Church, Brooklyn. Miss Grace Bodine, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Earle Bodine, brother of the bride, was best man.

Buford A Evington, 74, of 22 Mill Street, died Saturday, April 13, 1985 at Tompkins Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1910 in Inman, S.C , the son of the late Crawford and Ollie Henderson Evington. Mr. Evington was a technical sergeant with the U.S. Army, retiring in 1948 after 22 years of service. Following his military career, he was employed for 25 years in the maintenance department at Cornell University before his retirement in 1973. He was a charter member of the Dryden Baptist Chapel and had resided in the village of Dryden since 1948. He is survived by his wife, Marian Bodine Evington of Dryden; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandra Evington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Nelson Davis and Lorraine and David Hall, all of Dryden; six grandchildren; a stepsister, Mrs Pauline Pike of Inman, S.C ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held in the Dryden Baptist Chapel with the Rev Frank Bunyan officiating. Burial with full military honors was in the Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden. Arrangements were made by the Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden. Donations may be made to the Dryden Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Dryden Fire Department Ambulance Fund.
