Notes for: Daniel ("Danny") Lamont Bodine
Earle Sanford Bodine's obituary says Danny was his "grandson." Texas birth records, however, say he was Earle and Barbara's son. Daniel was actually their grandson but Earle and Barbara Bodine adopted him as their son. He was raised by his mother, Janet Marie Bodine.

Texas Birth Records reflect the birth of Daniel Lamont Bodine on 23 Sept 1972 in Wichita County, Texas to Barbara Ann Hubbard. No father was named. In the newspaper obituary of Earle Bodine, Danny Bodine is called his grandson.

Two Texas men were killed and two others injured early Saturday after a near head-on collision on a state highway in Cotton County. Tony Hernandez, 28, Wichita Falls, Texas, the driver of a 1980 Chevrolet Suburban, was pronounced dead at a Wichita Falls hospital after sustaining head and trunk injuries in the 2:30 a.m. accident, according to a report filed by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Emzla Pitts of the Jefferson County detachment. Daniel L. Bodine, 18, Burkburnett, Texas, who was driving a 1979 Chevrolet pickup, died at the scene from mulitple injuries, Pitts said. A passenger in Hernandez's vehicle, Kevin Strasser, 35, Wichita Falls, suffered head and trunk injuries and was listed in good condition at a Wichita Falls hospital. Johnny Elliott, 29, Burkburnett, a passenger in Bodine 's vehicle, was also listed good condition with head, trunk and external injuries, Pitts said. The accident occurred on Oklahoma 36 just west of Interstate 44 when Hernandez's vehicle went left of center and struck Bodine 's left front to left front. Bodine was pinned in his vehicle for an hour after the accident, Pitts said. Seattbelts were in use in both vehicles, the patrol reported.

I want to clarify the birth records of Daniel Lamont BODINE. He was born Dec. 23, 1972. Mother was my sister, Janet Marie BODINE, father Gary McKee... They married young and divorced young. Barbara and Earle adopted Danny, so that he would insurance. Janet was always there and raised him.
