On 16 Oct 1940, Robert Miller Bodine of Easton, PA, registered for the World War II Draft. He reported he was born 14 July 1907 in Alpha, NJ and named Mrs. Violet Louise Bodine, his wife, as his next of kin.

Divorce decrees issued yesterday by the Northampton county court: Violet L. Bodine, 2480 Forest St., Easton, was granted a divorce from Robert Bodine, 109 Lachenour Ave., Easton. They were married July 6, 1939, at Pen Argyl.

Robert M. Bodine, 60, of 109 Lachenour Ave., died last night in Gracedale, Nazareth R.D. 1, where he as a guest 13 years. Born in Alpha, he was a son of the late Robert M. and Margaret A. Flynn Bodine. He lived in the Easton area all his life. Mr. Bodine was last employed as a salesman for the former Spence Twin Electric Co., Phillipsburg. He was invalided 20 years ago when he was struck by a car. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ, Wilson. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lyman G. Burd, Washington, N.J.; a brother, Merrill, Cardington, Ohio; a halfsister, Miss Kitty Galloway, at home; a halfbrother, James I. Galloway, Narberth, Pa., and a nephew. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Curran Funeral Service Home, Wilson.

BODINE ROBERT M. 1907---1968

The Morning Call (Allentown, PA) of 26 Aug 1944 reported a house fire that injured Mrs. Herbert Bartholomew and her sister Mrs. Violet Bodine. Mrs. Bartholomew was Marguerite Keiser, born 14 Nov 1905 in Stanley, Wisconsin to Harry J. & Mary C. Keiser. The 1910 census of Palmer, Northampton Co., PA lists Harry J. Keiser, wife Mary, and daughters Marguerite 4 (WI) and Violet 2 (PA). In 1920 Violet L. KAISER 12 PA lived with her family in Wilson, Northampton Co., PA and there in 1930 with her parents and husband Venard Oscar Magnuson (1908-1990) who she married in 1928. By 1940, she was divorced and still living with her parents in Wilson. Her third husband was Archie Lawrence Wagner (1906-1961).

Mrs. Violet L. Wagner, 82, of 2106 Freemansburg Ave., Wilson, died Saturday in Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Palmer Township. She was the widow of Archie L. Wagner. She was employed by the former Dixie Cup plant, Wilson, for 10 years before retiring. Prior to that, she was employed by the former Schaible's Bakery, Wilson, for 15 years. Born in Wilson, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Fritzinger) Keiser. She was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ, Wilson. Survivors: Son, Gerald R. Magnuson of Mountainhome, Monroe County; sister, Marguerite Bartholomew, with whom she resided, and two grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Shillinger Funeral Home, 801 Lehigh St., Easton. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
