BJORK--C. Oscar Bjork, 93, 1131 10th Ave., died 4:21 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 1966 in Rockford Memeorial Hospital after a long illness. Born Oct. 8, 1873 in Sweden. He came to Donaldson, Ind., 86 years ago. Lived 72 years in Rockford, coming here from Donaldson, Ind. Married to Anna Bodine in Rockford June 5, 1901. Employed as a stock clerk by National Lock Co. He retired in 1928. Member of First Lutheran Church. From 1898 to 1902, he was business manager of Rockford Posten, a Swedish language newspaper then published here. From the Posten, he moved to the old Rockford Daily Republic, one of the forerunners of the present Register-Republic. Survivors include: hiw widow, Anna, and several nieces and nephews. Services at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Fred C. Olson Mortuary with the Rev. Philip Nelson, pastor of First Lutheran Church and Albert Loreen, pastor emeritus of First Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in Scandanavian Cemetery. Arrangements by Fred C. Olson Mortuary, 1001 2nd Ave. No visitation.

BJORK--Mrs. Anna S. Bjork, 107, 3470 N. Alpine Road, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 1982, in Fairhaven Christian Home after a short illness. Born June 7, 1875, in Rockford, daughter of August and Charlotte Bodine. Lifelong Rockford resident. Married C. Oscar Bjork in Rockford, June 5, 1901; he died in Rockford, Dec. 29, 1966. Member First Lutheran Church and church circle. Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Florence Owens and Mabel Bodine, both of Rockford. Services at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, in Fairhaven Christian Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Powers, pastor, First Lutheran Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Johnson, Fairhaven Christian Home chaplain. Burial in Scandanavian Cemetery. Arrangements by Fred C. Olson Mortuary, 1001 2nd Ave. No visitation.
