In 1880, August Bodine, a laborer, lived in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois with his wife and 3 children. August Bodine was naturalized in Rockford, Illinois on 28 March 1890. In 1900, August and Charlott Bodin lived in Rockford with 2 children. August reported he worked as a teamster and that in 30 years of marriage his wife had borne 3 children, all of whom were then living. In 1910, August Boden was working as a cement sidewalk layer, living with his wife Lottie and son Charles in Rockford. He reported he had immigrated to American in 1869. By Jan 1920, August Boden was widowed and living with his son Charlie.

Mrs. August Bodine, 75, one of the oldest Swedish-American residents of Rockford, died this morning at 11:45 o'clock at the home 1103 Eighth St. Mrs. Bodine had been suffering from a chronic ailment for the last five years. Several weeks ago she factured one hip in a fall, the accident aggravating her condition, and no dobut hastening the end. The deceased was born in Sweden 79 years ago and had been a resident of Rockford for the last 41 years. She is survived by the husband and three children, Charles abd Frank and Mrs. Oscar Bjork. Mr. Bodine is a teamster by occupation. Mrs. Bodine was a member of the First Lutheran church. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home snf at 2: 30 o'clock at the first Lutheran church, Rev. J. E. Seedoff officiating. Burial will take place in the Scandanavian cemetery.
