Faye Louise Johnston, 82, of Paris, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019. Faye was the oldest of 8 siblings, born March 13, 1937, to Edith Power Bodine and Cecil Bodine. She entered grade school at St. Brenan's Catholic School in Mexico, Missouri, and later transferred to Wright School in rural Monroe County. She entered high school at Paris, where she graduated in 1955. On August 21, 1959, she married Sidney "Keith" Eckman, and together they raised their family of three children in Paris until his death in 1985. In 1990, Faye married Roy Johnston of Paris. He preceded her in death in 1991. Faye was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alan Dale Bodine and Earl Wayne Bodine. She is survived by her children, Sidney Wheelan (Sid Conklin), Debbie Miller (Darrell) and Jeff Eckman; Grandchildren, Jeremy Mikel (Marcy), Amanda Ensor, and Danielle Wheelan; and was Gigi to four great-grandchildren, Kentlie and Kyndall Ensor, and Claire and Winston Mikel. She is also survived by her siblings, Doris Wright, Cecil “Lucky” Bodine (Catherine), Roy Bodine (Mary), Carl Bodine (Melba) and Donnie Bodine (Betty); step-children Donna Johnston Bodine, Jack Johnston and Janine Johnston, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family that she cherished and loved. Faye's life was blessed with an abundance of family and many friends. She spent most of her career as a paramedic and administrator of the Monroe County Ambulance District and later working in the kitchen at the Monroe Manor. Her family and friends will treasure memories of her infectious smile and feisty spirit. She took great joy in helping others and will be missed by so many who have been touched by her love. Services will be held at the Agnew Funeral Home in Paris on Friday, August 2, 2019. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. with a service celebrating her life, beginning at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please support others by donating to the Monroe County Cancer Supporters or other charities of your choice.
